Bacon, Egg, and Cheese Ramen: Good Enough for any Meal

Bacon, Egg, and Cheese Ramen: Good Enough for any Meal

All ramen is so good you could eat it for breakfast, lunch, and dinner but especially my bacon, egg, and cheese ramen. It has all of the classic ingredients of your favorite breakfast sandwich, but we are flipping it into a noodle bowl with some white pepper and a dash of soy sauce for a simple and delicious meal any time of day.

All joking aside, it is common to eat ramen for breakfast in Japan, although I’m sure they are eating a more authentic version than my bacon, egg, and cheese ramen, which is essentially an idea I came up with after seeing the viral mac n cheese ramen. I thought, why stop there, let’s add an egg and some bacon and make this a real meal. And I was not disappointed and you won’t be either. It’s a quick and filling meal that hits the spot after a long day or even a long night.

This recipe serves 1, but it is easily doubled.

Bacon, Egg, and Cheese Ramen Ingredients:

1 package of instant ramen, seasoning sachets discarded

1 egg, soft boiled (I hard boiled mine by accident!)

2 strips of bacon, cooked. I used turkey bacon, but your preference

1 tablespoon of butter

1 tablespoon of flour

1/4 cup of milk

1 garlic clove, minced

1/4 cup of shredded cheese, cheddar, mozzarella, or a delicious mixture of the two

2 tablespoons of sliced scallions for garnish

Dash of soy sauce and white pepper

Sriracha to serve.

Instructions:

  1. Cook the noodles according to package instructions and drain.
  2. Make a 7 minute egg and fry up that bacon.
  3. Meanwhile, make your cheesy sauce by sauteing the garlic in butter over medium heat for 30 seconds in a frying pan. Then, whisking in the four, letting it cook for a minute until the mixture becomes smooth.
  4. Whisk in the milk and allow it to come to a simmer and the milk to thicken slightly, about 3 minutes. Remove the milk from the heat and whisk in the cheese, and just a dash of soy sauce and white pepper.
  5. Combine the noodles with the cheese sauce in a bowl and top with your egg, bacon, scallions, and sriracha if desired.
