You have got to try my bang bang chicken bowl the next time you are looking for a quick weeknight meal that checks all of the boxes of deliciousness. It’s easy, spicy, clean up is a breeze, and it has a good helping of vegetables to make you feel healthy.
To make this bang bang chicken bowl, all you have to do is simply marinate some chicken and throw it in the air fryer. While that’s doing it’s thing, steam some rice, chop some veggies, mix up a quick sauce, and voila – you have on found the perfect weeknight recipe that will delight your senses and family.
The marinade for my bang bang chicken bowls makes a very interesting barbecue type sauce that is addictive. And since this will be air fried, that’s perfectly fine because it will be much healthier than the deep fried counterpart.

Serves 4
Bang Bang Chicken Marinade Ingredients:
2 chicken breast, cut into cubes
2 teaspoons paprika
1 teaspoon white pepper
1 tablespoon of sesame oil
2 tablespoons chili sauce, like Huy Fong or make your own version
1/4 cup of soy sauce
1/2 cup of cornstartch
For the Bang Bang Sauce:
1/4 cup of light mayo
2 tablespoons of hot chili sauce
3 tablespoons of sriracha
1 teaspoon honey
Juice of 1/2 lime
To Serve in your Bang Bang Chicken Bowls:
Steamed rice
Scallions
Shredded carrots and cabbage
Sesame seeds
Instructions:
- Cube the chicken and marinate in the paprika, white pepper, chili sauce, soy sauce, and cornstarch for 30 minutes to 2+ hours.
- Preheat your airfryer to 400F and cook the marinated chicken for 20 minutes, turning half way through.
- Meanwhile, prepare your rice, shred your cabbage and carrots, and make your cucumber salad.
- Mix your bang bang sauce together by combining mayo, chili sauce, sriracha, honey, and lime juice in a jar and shaking it up or mix it in a bowl and whisk.
- Assemble the bowls by topping the rice with cabbage, carrots, cucumber salad, and the bang bang chicken. Adorn with sesame seeds, scallions, and a generous portion of the bang bang sauce.
