Blackened Tuna with Mango Salsa: How to Make this Soon to be Classic

Blackened Tuna with Mango Salsa: How to Make this Soon to be Classic

You may think you are sick of my tuna and mango combination recipes, but you are wrong because this blackened tuna with mango salsa just might be the best yet. It’s giving tropical vibes this time and it’s so good and so easy to make, that you would be mistaken to pass this one up.

Plus, tuna and mango just go together like a bunch of gibberish words from that cheesy song in Grease. Not only is it visually stunning, but the sweet and slightly tangy mango really cuts through the richness of the tuna in a sharp contrast that ignites your palate. The textures are also in harmony with the tuna being silky yet firm and the mango being a juicy and soft for a balanced mouth feel. Toss in some blackening spices and you got yourself the perfect dish with great contrasts of flavors, textures, and freshness.

Make this blackened tuna with mango salsa with cilantro rice for a perfect weeknight meal that is not only quick, but delicious and healthy. And then remember that you could never get sick of the amazing combination of mango and tuna – never!

Suggested Wine Pairing:

A sauvignon blanc would be a good choice with herbal notes to contrast the spices and balance well against the sweet mango.

Tools:

A cast iron pan would be ideal for getting the crust just right on this dish. Stainless steel will work, but adjust (lower) the heat accordingly.
