Fattet Hummus: Make this Flawless Snack

Fattet Hummus: Make this Flawless Snack

Fattet hummus is the best of both worlds in the realm of snacking. It is basically hummus mixed with a few whole chickpeas, lemon, and yogurt, topped with pomegranate, pignolia nuts, and parsley. So in one bountiful bowl, you have beans for fiber, yogurt for calcium, lemon to keep the scurvy away, pomegranate and parsley because we need to eat our fruit and vegetables, and pignolia nuts for a bit of fat. Add some Syrian bread for dipping and carbs and you got yourself some sublime snacking.

I like to make this when I am getting to the end of the hummus, but I am not quite ready to make more. So, enter yogurt to stretch the hummus even further. But really, you need no excuse to make this because it is super tasty and craving crushing. Not only is fattet hummus easy to make, but it will definitely help you beat those afternoon slumps and sadness!

Serves 2 – 4, but easily multiplied.

Ingredients:

1/2 cup hummus, store bought or home made. At room temperature.

1/2 cup plain yogurt

Juice of 1/2 lemon

1/4 cup chickpeas

1/4 cup pomegranate seeds

2 tablespoons pignolia nuts

1 tablespoon chopped parsley

Instructions:

  1. This is an easy one! Mix your hummus, yogurt, lemon, and chickpeas together. Top with pomegranate, pignolia nuts, and parsley. Serve with Syrian bread at room temperature. Store leftovers in an airtight container in the fridge and allow to come to room temperature before snacking again.
