Grilled Harissa Chicken: The Answer to Boring Chicken Recipes

Chicken can be super boring, so if you’re looking to kick up your chicken dinner, look no further than this easy recipe for grilled harissa chicken.

If you’re not familiar with Harissa, it is a north African spice that is commonly found in grocery stores as either a spice blend or a paste. It is a blend of a bunch of different hot and mild peppers native to the Morocco and Tunisia area along with the usual suspects for that region like garlic, cumin and coriander.

So, if that sounds good to you, try this recipe for Grilled Harissa Chicken tonight. It’s super spicy, juicy, and comes together very quickly. I like to make this with my hasselback potatoes or whole roasted cauliflower for a well rounded meal and they go together perfectly with the complementing spices and creamy whipped feta to give you a quick reprise from the heat!

Serves 4

Tools:

Grill, indoor grill, or grill pan. You could even roast this in the oven.

Ingredients:

2 Large chicken breasts, halved. Chicken thighs would also work really well.

3 Tablespoons harissa seasoning or paste

2 Tablespoons olive oil

1 garlic clove minced

1 teaspoon salt

1/2 teaspoon pepper

Instructions:

  1. Combine harissa, olive oil, garlic, salt, and pepper in a large mixing bowl and add chicken. Allow to marinate for about 20 minutes or longer.
  2. Preheat grill or grill pan to medium high heat. Add the chicken to the grill and cook for about 10 minutes each side. Super easy and done. Great for a weeknight meal with this grilled harissa chicken.
