Hasselback Potatoes “Garlic Bread” Style: Make this Delicious Recipe

If you haven’t tried hasselback potatoes yet, this is your sign to to try them. This preparation of potatoes takes a minute, but it is so worth it! Hasselback potatoes are a type of baked potato that is cut about halfway through but connected on the bottom to make thin slices. The cuts make each bite of these garlic-y hasselback potatoes super crispy and flavorful. In order to get these cut properly, line up two chopsticks parallel to the potato and begin making thin slices but not cutting all the way through so it’s like an accordion. Trust me, it takes a bit more effort to make these slices for the hasselback potatoes, but you will not regret it!

Serves 4 as a side dish

Ingredients:

4 medium sized baking potatoes

2 tablespoons of butter

3 garlic cloves minced

1/2 cup of shredded parmesan cheese

1 teaspoon salt

1/2 teaspoon pepper

cutting hasselback potatoes

Instructions:

  1. Preheat your oven to 400F. While the oven preheats, start making the fan like slices in your potatoes. Line up the potatoes between 2 chopsticks and make thin slices so that the potatoes makes an accordian and is still connected on the bottom.
  2. Melt the butter for 30 seconds in a microwave and stir in garlic.
  3. Sprinkle the potatoes with salt and pepper and then using a silicone brush, brush the butter and garlic mixture over the potatoes and into the slices.
  4. Bake the potatoes for about 45 minutes in the preheated oven. After 45 minutes, remove the hasselback potatoes from the oven and sprinkle parmesan cheese over the top. Cook for another 15 minutes and enjoy with Harrissa Chicken!
