I find most margaritas to be way too sweet which is a shame because the ingredients should be super simple. Tequila and lime are such a natural combo and there is really not a whole lot else you need. Listen, it’s been a long week and you are far too overdue for a cocktail. So why even discuss it further! Here is a simple recipe for a delicious, refreshing, and low calorie margarita.
Serves 2
Tools:
Cocktail Shaker but you could really mix this in the glass if you want to keep things super simple.
Ingredients:
3 Counts of Tequila
2 Counts or Triple Sec or Cointreau
3 Counts of freshly squeezed lime juice (about 1 – 2 limes)
2 Counts of soda water
2 lime segments for garnish
Instructions:
- Add tequila, triple sec, and lime juice into a cocktail shaker with ice and shake.
- The soda water is going to cut the acidity of the lime and also give you a nice frothy texture, but beware; it will also blow the top off your shaker! The trick is to remove the top of the shaker, pour in the soda water and stir.
- Divide between two margarita, martini, or coupe glasses and garnish with a lime wedge. Enjoy with fajitas or guacamole.
