My spiced potato wedges are not quite a french fry and not quite a baked potato. They are, however, the perfect side dish for almost anything. These spiced potato wedges have a slightly crispy exterior, a pillowy soft interior, and just a hint of spicy and savory flavor making it possible to pair with anything.
They are also super simple to make in the oven and I have the hack to get them crispy. While you are spicing and saucing up those wedges, get your sheet pan in the oven while it is preheating. Then, when the potatoes are ready to go in, simply pour them on the preheated sheet pan and you will get the perfect crunch on the outside while the inside is fluffy and delicious. So next time you are craving carbs but you can’t decide between a baked potato or a french fry, try these spiced potato wedges with your burger or sandwich!
Makes enough for about 4 people as a side dish.
Ingredients:
4 medium baking potatoes, rinsed, dried and cut into wedges
2 tablespoons of olive oil
1 teaspoon of paprika
Dash of cayenne pepper
1/2 teaspoon of thyme
1/2 teaspoon of white pepper
1 teaspoon of salt
1/2 teaspoon of pepper
Instructions:
- Preheat the oven to 400F with the sheet pan you will use to cook the potatoes inside to preheat.
- Meanwhile, add the potatoes to a large bowl and season with the spiced and olive oil. Give it a stir to combine, making sure all of the potatoes are covered.
- Carefully remove the sheet pan from the oven and add the potato wedges in a single layer. Put it back in the oven and cook for 15 minutes.
- After 15 minutes, remove the potatoes from the oven and turn them over. Cook for another 15 minutes or until they are cooked through.
