Creamy White Bean Hummus: Easy and Delicious Recipe

Creamy White Bean Hummus: Easy and Delicious Recipe

I ran out of chickpeas but I had an intense craving for some hummus and some fresh bread that needed to be dipped. I scoured my pantry and found a lone can of white beans and I knew exactly what that meant; creamy white bean hummus. It may not be traditional, but white bean hummus is delicious, creamy, and dreamy.

This recipe combines your basic hummus ingredients but pops up the spice level and the result is a succulent and luscious hummus that rivals it’s chickpea based cousin. It’s also very simple to make with a can of white beans and few other ingredients. Just throw them into the food processor and you got yourself a delectable snack!

So next time you are craving hummus but something just a bit different, look no further than my creamy white bean hummus to mix it up and level it up. This also works well as a party appetizer or part of a mezze platter.

This recipe will make about 2 cups of hummus and will last about a week, refrigerated in an airtight container. Although it never lasts that long in my household!

Tools:

You will need a food processor or blender to make this white bean hummus.

Ingredients:

1 – 14 ounce can of white beans

2 tablespoons of tahini

Juice of 1/2 lemon

2 cloves of roasted garlic

1 jalapeno or serrano pepper, chopped

1 teaspoon of salt

1/2 teaspoon of pepper

Olive oil and parsley for the pretty

Instructions:

  1. Drain and rinse the white beans. Add them to a food processor with tahini, lemon juice, roasted garlic, jalapeno, salt, and pepper. Blend until smooth.
  2. Transfer to a serving bowl or tupperware. Make it even more beautiful by drizzling some olive oil and sprinkling some parsley over the top.
