This Hack Only Makes it Seem like you have been Cooking all day

Roasting Garlic is the easiest thing you can do to give your meals that home cooked, slaved away at the stove all day kind of flavor and it’s super easy to do. You just have to remember to do it. And then you can substitute the roasted garlic in any recipe that calls for a clove and instantly, the flavor is that much better. You could try this in hummus, marry me stuffed peppers, or even spread this roasted garlic on toast and use it in ways that raw garlic might be too pungent. Once you roast garlic, it actually mellows the flavor quite a bit and makes even those that are not a the biggest garlic fans to reconsider. It takes away that bite and replaces it with a gentle nuttiness that reminds you of a slow cooked Sunday dinner but without actually taking all that time.

Roasting Garlic

All you need to do is get a few heads of garlic (I usually roast about 4 when I have the oven going for something else) and wrap each individual head in aluminum foil. Preheat the oven to 400F and toss those suckers in there for about an hour. Once they are good and roasted, remove them from the foil and cool. You can either store them as is in a container in the fridge, or you can squeeze the cloves out of the skins and store them in a paste like form. So go ahead, get that sympathy vote in the easiest way possible and next time you fire up the oven, throw a couple heads of garlic in there!
