How to Make the Best Crispy Restaurant Style Salmon

Have you ever wondered why your favorite restaurant can make salmon better than you? I mean, what is their secret? Well, I am not sure what their secret is, but I am going to give you mine so that you can make your own crispy restaurant style salmon.

And guess what? It isn’t even that hard to make. All you need is good stainless steel pan, a few salmon filets and some salt, pepper, and oil and you got yourself a restaurant style meal at a fraction of the cost and not actually a ton of effort.

So next time you are craving crispy restaurant style salmon, look no further than your own kitchen and this simple recipe.

Serves 2, but this is easily doubled as needed. Just be aware of crowding the pan for ultimate crispiness.

Suggested Wine Pairing:

An oaked chardonnay will pair perfectly crispy restaurant style salmon. The chardonnay will pair well with the butter and complement the richness and the toasty notes of the salmon skin.

Ingredients:

2 salmon fillets

1 tablespoon vegetable oil

1 tablespoon butter

Salt and pepper to taste

Lemon wedges to serve

Instructions:

  1. Dry the salmon fillets from top to skin. Season liberally with salt and pepper.
  2. In a large stainless steel skillet over medium-high heat, add the vegetable oil. When it shimmers and easily coats the pan, get the butter melting. Now, add the salmon skin side up and don’t move it for 4-5 minutes. Reduce heat to medium and after 5 minutes the salmon should easily remove from the pan to flip. Cook skin side down for another 4-5 minutes or to your desired doneness.
  3. Remove from heat and serve immediately. My crispy restaurant style salmon pairs perfectly with spinach rice.
